And another year passed
On the 4th of May 2008 President Mubarak celebrated his birthday
in the Oraba Presidential Palace to become one of the oldest rulers in the world and also in the history of Egypt including the ancient one "yes the Ancient one" . read more »
What a coincidence
This coincidence shows you how the Egypt , Syria and Lebanon are too close to each whether on the Governmental level or the public level.
Last Week Mubarak announced a 30% raise in Egypt
Last week Bashar announced a 25% raise in Syria
Then this week the Egyptian Government raised the prices of fuel products along with other products
Also this week the Syrian Government raised the prices of fuel products along with other products
To Lebanon
The Pro-American Cabinet that no one wants it more because of its economic and political decisions raised the prices of fuel products along with other products and now people are really angry not because of sectarian reasons or Hezbollah or Iran but because of the prices. read more »
Too late
Egypt and Saudi Arabia announced that they are going to have an urgent meeting in the Arab League for the Arab foreign ministers after two days from today , oh yes after two days ; on Monday !!??
Either that Egypt and Saudi Arabia are waiting to see which side will win and so they will form a position despite their support to the 14th of March or that they are waiting form some external miracle to come and save the 14th of March from a bitter defeat !!
I do not know what could happen in the next 48 hours , it seems to me that Nasrallah was not kidding when he hinted that he could control Beirut in short time , well he read more »
Look who is talking ??
From fours days ago the Egyptian Ministers spoke on the News night talk shows to justify the latest economic decisions of the Nazif cabinet. Minister Ahmed Al Magrabhi said on Al Mahwar 90 minutes unrealistic claims that these decisions were taken to help the poor and they will take from the rich and give to the poor !! Sorry the correct terms take from the Capable to the incapable !!?? as you see vague terms !! Define the Capable and the Incapable !! He also mentioned something about the Social justice !!
Anyhow I do not think that Choosing Ahmed Al Magrabhi who is heading some committee was a correct choice to speak about the living situation in Egypt , the social justice and the poor Vs. Rich. read more »

Down with the Facebook
The Facebook now is the official enemy of state. The blogs are no longer the danger on the State but it is the Facebook.
Last week most if not all the official publications in the Arab Republic of Egypt opened their fire on the Facebook as a danger on the national security , danger on our identity and danger on our morals sending several indirect messages like calling for a ban and scaring the average Egyptian Joe from using it. Al Ahram daily weekly edition on Friday the 2nd of May 2008 published a whole page trashing "The Facebook" in the most worse week using big language against those who use it from youth ; ironically it is not only youth who are using it !! read more »
Sarkozy's Egyptian Holiday
Just like the Roman Holiday but this time not in the ancient city of Rome but the ancient city of Luxor
Seriously I do not know if the French President thought for one second that his Private unofficial visit to Luxor would turn in to a big worldwide media circus
More than 100 photographers came to the City according to the mayor General Samir Farag who can be the Governor of Luxor insh Allah in the next year expected decisions. read more »
Sarko and Carla in Luxor ,Fresh photos
Here are some photos for President Sarkozy and singer/former Super model Carla, his girl friend in the ancient city of Luxor where he arrived ,do not you smell L' amour in the air ??
Already he is staying in my favourite Winter Palace and the photographers are invading the city to take snapshots with his girl friend in the city and they did despite the huge security circus in the city this time ,I wonder if Sarkozy will lose control with the photographers and journalists like he did this year earlier in the States or he will be polite read more »
A Protest by the pilgrims in Mena
It seems that the Protests and Strike culture is finding its way more and more among the Egyptians and wonderful thing it happens in the last place you would expect
This is time outside our national borders , it is in KSA this time in the holy land too during the Pilgrimage !!
Surprise is not it ??
3000 Egyptian Pilgrims members in the official delegation protested yesterday after Friday's prayer and they even made a siege around the HQ of the officials in the delegation protesting the bad treatment they suffer from in the delegation . It seems that they gave 3000 tents to sleep in made for less this number , the Saudis made the tents for less than 3000 people , for example they gave tents originally for 50 , the delegation assigns the tent to 100 person read more »
For what ??
I felt so sad when I read about the terrible events that took place in Qena today from sectarian tensions mainly from attacks by Muslims against Christian properties in the town of Esna.
I could not believe myself when I found out that they attacked the Virgin Church in the city
Seriously I am very sad
and I am sorry to the Christians very much , I know my apologize will be nothing and I know that some people outside will use today's events to promote the lies that there are on going wars between Muslims and Christians read more »
And the Golden Whip goes to…
Behold the First Cairo Police Torture Film Festival.
Statistics..Statistics
It's not bad enough that we are the country of a baby every 23 seconds , we now have a divorce every 6 minutes. A third of Egyptian marriages apparently fail in their first year. Not as bad as the US divorce rates, but we are getting there.
Speaking of the US divorce rate though, since it's 50% now, why even bother with waiting for a while before getting married and wasting all that time being sure first? I mean, whether your marry someone you've loved for years, or one you picked off the street, you have, statistically speaking, equal chances of success or failure. No?

Q: Why is this story of the egyptian army's seizure of land and homes not reported in the egyptian media or anywhere on the blogsphere?
A: Because critisizing the army in any way can land you for at least year in jail. Plus, whatchu gonna do? Call them thieves? Can't really steal what you already own, and they own all of our asses. You know why? Cause they got guns and we don't. Yay for Gun Control Laws.
Sigh…
Egypt's Telecom Market Intelligence Report
Egypt's telecommunications sector is one of the fastest-developing markets in the Middle East and Africa (MEA) region, despite the fact that the fixed-line market is effectively monopolised by the state-owned incumbent operator, Telecom Egypt. The same company has a stake in Egypt's second-largest mobile telephone company - Vodafone Egypt - and also has stakes of varying sizes in the country's many value-added and Internet service providers (ISPs). read more »
on the uss unliberty and the betrayal of the vets
The U.S. National Security Agency just released a set of classified documents on the attack against the USS Liberty in the Mediterranean in 1967. The documents may be accessed here http://www.nsa.gov/liberty .
No, it did not make it to the media. Nor will it. It only made its way on the Internet and in some publications such as The Chicago Tribune, whose editors even took the time to interview survivors . It states: read more »
