The Wife's Boyfriend: Is He the Better Deal?
Fantasia's World - Thu, 2007-11-22 19:30 By Fantasia
How does this sound?.. Awkward? Bizaar? Meaningless? Well, not to me. I'm pretty familiar with the concept. Heard it being justified over and over. Yes, there are wives who do have secret boyfriends. But they didn't mean to cheat. In fact, they think that those boyfriends help them go on with their marriages. They would never think of cheating. It's completely out of the question. read more »

And the latest "WTF!?" news headline prize goest to...
Hearing myself speak - Sat, 2007-11-17 23:59 By
I was watching El-Arabiya the other day and this headline caught my eye (or rather burnt it) as it scrolled across the bottom of the screen. It was more or less similar to this BBC headline :
Saudi gang-rape victim is jailed

What a lovely day for humanity...
Hearing myself speak - Sat, 2007-11-10 16:24 By
*Sigh* ! It's such a pretty day. The breeze is gently blowing making the leaves rustle softly , the birds are singing, the guy next to us is beating the crap out of his wife....
Yeah, that's right. Our next door neighbour, a dentist from a family which is very financially blessed , who has only been married for less than a year (also to a dentist) is currently undertaking the task of making his wife run around the house , screaming for help. Did I mention that she has just had a baby about a week ago? read more »

I'm Coming Out
Fantasia's World - Wed, 2007-10-03 17:27 By Fantasia
I'm coming out
I want the world to know
Got to let it show
There's a new me coming out
And I just had to live
And I wanna give
I'm completely positive
I think this time around
I just wanna do it
Like you never knew it
Ooh, I'll make it through
The time has come for me read more »

A Woman with a Dream
Fantasia's World - Wed, 2007-09-19 16:07 By Fantasia
When Martin Luther King stood there, giving his public speech in 1963, saying his famous "I have a dream...", he certainly had no idea that his dream will come true. He had no idea that his speech will be a historic one, or that it will later be ranked the top American speech of the 20th century. He was only being sincere and dedicated to his cause. read more »

Why I love my period
Fantasia's World - Mon, 2007-08-27 15:08 By Fantasia
Unlike what most women feel about their monthly period, I certainly love my period. Don't get me wrong, it's nothing gross. Of course, like all females I hate the cramps, the mood swings, the headache, the bloating and all this. But, the thing is.. we were like two enemies and then we finally became friends.

Men of the World.. Get Lost
Fantasia's World - Mon, 2007-08-20 15:27 By Fantasia
In an earlier post I've discussed a book which prophecized the end of the male species. This time, however, I am not discussing the biological failure of males and the need for them to extinct for environmental balance. I'd rather talk about the social side and why societies have deteriorated whenever they were male-dominated. read more »

Medusa's Head
Fantasia's World - Mon, 2007-08-13 15:18 By Fantasia
She was beauty itself, dazzling all, an imposible prize, the forbidden fruit, a heavenly combination of feminine charms, "the jealous aspiration of many suitors" _ Ovid.
She's a nymph turned into a monster. The scariest image that human imagination have carved through history. She's Medusa.

Prostitution
Fantasia's World - Wed, 2007-08-08 13:53 By Fantasia
I knew I would inevitably reach this topic sooner or later. What made it sooner though, is that I was shocked to notice that prostitution in Egypt is on the rise, as contrary to the current ethical and religious cover the country wears nowaday. Never has been a time that corruption was a matter of daily life, something that you have to live with and take as a fact, as we are witnessing nowadays! read more »
In response to GBK
Ha Ana Za! - Tue, 2007-07-17 12:30 By
GBK posted a really through and great analysis of my recent post on violence against women and raised some fantastic questions that not just merit answering for his sake and my peace of mind but also to give the reader something further to think about. You can read his analysis here
The first item to be called into question is that of honour killings and the punishment that should be meted out on those in question:

Fishing Manual
Fantasia's World - Mon, 2007-07-16 17:59 By Fantasia
Just take a moment to think about the title of this book.. Let aside the ugly ad and the pathetic message they used to market their pathetic product "Marriage is the most important goal in your life".. Let aside the humiliating words used to emphasise the presumed importance of the sorry to call it "book".. Imagine the author writing the book. Imagine his background and his view of women. What's next? What will be enough for you women to see how society sees you? read more »

committed helpers." From the last sermon of Prophet Mohammed
"None but a noble man treats women in an honorable manner. And none but an
ignoble treats women disgracefully". Prophet Mohammed (At-Tirmithy).
According to Abdullah ibn Mas'ud, the Prophet is reported to have said:"If a daughter is born to a person and he brings her up, gives her a good education and trains her in the arts of life, I shall myself stand between him and hell-fire."
It’s all in the technique

I’m sure we all (the ones with functioning brains at least) know that harassment is a horrible vile thing particularly because of how degrading and violating it is to women. read more »
