One of the major features of an operating system is the capability to create task automation scripts. Those scripts are usually run inside a command line shell that interprets the script commands and executes them one at a time. Conventionally, that was the only way tasks could be executed before graphical user interfaces came to life, unless a custom program is developed using C++, for example. Although Microsoft Windows XP and later versions include a built-in support for burning CDs, there is still a need to use a separate program for such purpose. This is due to the limitation imposed by using built-in CD burner in Windows. Actually, it provides intuitive, Explorer-integrated user interface for burning CDs as if you are just dragging or copying files between folders. read more »

I am currently dual-booting Ubuntu Linux and Windows Vista on my home PC, where Ubuntu is the primary operating system for day-to-day activities, while Vista is my Windows-based development machine.
