Enormously belated Halloween revelries
Finally the haze of work has lifted and rather than commit secretarycide I will recount what actually did go down on Halloween, aeons ago. I know you’ve been biting your nails in anxiety over not knowing events of such import.
So I actually did go to my Halloween party as Mia Wallace. In my quest for verisimilitude I barely restrained myself from buying a L.E. 600 wig - which really suited me by the way - and just got my hair blow-dried straight and cut a little into a straight blunt cut. I did refrain from getting bangs (fringe), however, because I would have had to straighten them with a blow dryer or flat iron every day. read more »

What the Hell!!!
This is unbelievable!!!!!!!!!!!!! I’m sick, AGAIN!!!!!!!!!!! I’ve got the bloody flu, AGAIN!!! I’m stuck in my room with nothing to do, AGAIN!!!!!! Seriously, what the hell is wrong! My immune system hates me.
On a lighter note,my friend J introduced me to Yelle’s music, and he sent me a video of ‘A Cause Des Garçons - Remix’. I can’t stop listening to it! Plus, the video’s quite addictive; the dance is called Tecktonik and I love it! It looks so, so…weird, and I like weird ;) I’ve attempted to learn it, but let’s just say, being fuzzed up on medication, dancing like a loon and trying to stay balanced is one hell of a feat! read more »

i’ve just finished watching keeping the faith movie ..
i watched it because i like Edward Norton and Jenna Elfman really looked cute in this movie - i like short hair girls

6:10: Dancing in Susu’s room to ‘Relax, Take it Easy’ by Mika.
6:30: In the Diwaniya trying to connect my laptop to the internet (Susu, your internet hates me).
6:35: Typing out remainder of my ‘Measure for Measure’ assignment
7:15-ish: Chika and Enigma arrive
7:30+: FUN, FUN, FUN!!!!!!

Come Fly the Redbull Sky
I spent yesterday afternoon with Juju and Susu and I had one of the best times of my life! Of course the Twirlies were incomplete because Nani was missing from action (you should’ve flown in from Scotland :p) So we attended the First Annual Redbull Flugtag and it was fantastic! The sun was shining, the wind was blowing, the birds were chirping, no wait, the birds weren’t chirping, actually, I’m not sure I saw any birds in the first place! Anyway, Susu and I accidentally bumped into each other yesterday at Marina, well she’s the one who noticed me and I was a heap of clumsiness and cluelessness (is that even a word?!), but hey, what’s new about that? read more »
Ice Cream
I have the greatest friends in the world (you know who you are, I’d be lost without you), and they’ve helped me get back to tip top condition - well almost tip-top.
I received Jack Savoretti’s album last week, and it’s so pretty to look at :) My camera’s somewhere in my room, and I can’t be fussed to get up and look for it, but I promise I’ll take pictures of the inlay and the actual CD soon, well sometime this year at least.
I was watching TV last week and there was an interview with a band called New Young Pony Club, I fell in love with their music instantly! Ice Cream is one hell of a catchy track, so is FAN; their album ‘Fantastic Playroom’ is a must-listen. A MUST-LISTEN!

The Vacationer 2.5
I forgot to mention what at least I thought was the funniest part of the evening. Buddha Bar has a drink called a “Pimping Soho”, which I of course ordered so I would get to say “pimping” which is one of my favourite words. He didn’t hear me and I got to shout “PIMPING SOHO!” Then he came back and asked my friend what I had ordered and he shouted “PIMPING SOHO!”. This made us both laugh very much. Probably you had to be there.
The Vacationer Part 2
Although copious bleeding is of course a mark of great celebration, we decided nevertheless that one trip to the ER does not a four day vacation make. A couple of nights later we went to Buddha Bar, which just opened in the Sofitel El Gezira. T. Shahin was fortunately present, preventing further thirdwheelery on my part. I’m back at work after Eid break. I wish I could report that the break was of a bitchin’ nature, but I’m afraid that due to dutiful friends preferring the filial obligation of spending the first day of Eid with their families, I wasn’t able to go out of town. About a week ago I was invited to dinner at a new friend’s apartment in Zamalek. I was given the address, and off I set, on foot. I clip clopped along with my laptop and gym bag (I have started going to the gym, with no perceptible effect other than an increased knowledge of the programming choices of MBC 2 and the blow to my credit card). I arrived at the street number my friend indicated. Naturally, six men with no perceptible connection to the building were sitting out front on lawn chairs as if they owned the place. I hate loiterers. Probably because I can’t loiter, because that would make me a woman of ill repute as far as Egyptian society is concerned. read more »

As you can tell, female friendship has been on my mind lately. I suppose this was partly caused by that trip to Sharm, wherein I wallowed, lolled and frolicked in a pool of testosterone. I emerged from it gasping and mewling “I need boobs!” weakly. I did it in my head, though. Also, for the first time in a long time, I have absolutely no men in my life (well, any that I’m interested in) which has left me with more time to appreciate women, I guess.
