Bikini?

Bikini Sandwich

A billboard -that advertises a famous brand name of Fast Food services in Egypt- caught my attention via offering the Bikini sandwich!

I wonder according to what perspective they named it so? I don’t think they meant “exposed meat” for example ;P

My two questions are:
1. Any insight? and
2. what do you think?

p.s. The billboard is really in an awful condition. Click this link for a full shoot.

Salaam,
Hicham.  read more »

My Colleague Was Sexually Harassed!

Fadfadation - Sun, 2007-10-28 07:02 By Fadfadation
Laaa, Qatar is changing a lot. What a pity :(

My colleague (British Female) was back from an outing at 1AM. As she was parking her car under the house, she notices a man in a car behind her just sitting there.

The man was starring at her. She felt uncomfortable and waited a bit till he left.
Five minutes passed and he stayed there. She thought he might be waiting for someone.

Farewell Ramadan :(

Fadfadation - Thu, 2007-10-11 20:01 By Fadfadation
As always, Ramadan month just whizzed away :(

It is amazing how those 30 days just tend to fly!
It is as if Ramadan is telling us:"Catch me if you can!"

Note: with all due respect to Ginger Bread Man from the Ladybird stories...although it was "You can't catch me! You can't catch me!".

Yesterday, after praying the late night prayers in the Masjid (Mosque) i just rested my back against the side wall of the Masjid within the praying area and sat there for like 10 minutes.

A Band In The Mosque!

Fadfadation - Mon, 2007-10-01 08:15 By Fadfadation
This happened last night in the Mosque (Masjid) I pray Taraweh in (in Qatar).

Note: The following is in terms of "the meaning of" not literally said or done.

Between the Taraweh prayers (11 in total), the Imam (Islamic cleric leading prayer) stops for a 10-15 minute lesson. Yesterday, the lesson was very different...

As we finished praying, the Imam went up to the Mic and said that we have a guy with us in the Masjid that is from a charity organization and that he wants to make a few announcements.

The guy went up to the Mic and made a few announcements of the achievements done with all the money collected over the past 3 years and so on.

After that the shock happened…

Israelites And Prophets

Fadfadation - Sun, 2007-09-30 07:36 By Fadfadation
"
One might wonder why God sent to the Israelites specifically so many Prophets (some sources say 70 prophets over the history of mankind).

One might ask, why not just send them one prophet and they follow him and that's it?! they were the chosen ones, so why so many?

Think of it this way...
When you have a body that is ill, you call a doctor to cure it. When the body is full of all sorts of illnesses, you need a lot of doctors!

On The First Day Of Ramadan

Fadfadation - Thu, 2007-09-27 06:43 By Fadfadation
This happened on the First day of Ramadan.

As I was driving our cleaning guy to the bus station, this conversation took place:
Note: his name is R. and he is a Protestant Christian from India.

R.: "Sir, the weather today is much better".
I: "Yes R., it dropped 7 degrees just today".
R.: "Sir when do you start fasting for Ramadan? When is Ramadan?".
I: "Today R., today is the first day".
R.: "Ohhhh God is Great Sir!!".
I: "What do you mean R.?".  read more »

Egyptian Management Aka Egypt Developers forums

Mohamed Meshref's Blog - Fri, 2007-09-21 21:41 By Mohamed Meshref
As we all know, Egypt doesn’t lack people with perfect skills in all fields (individual contributors), but what we really lack is good management, because our management sucks.

In this post I’ll talk about a typical manager for an Egyptian software development forums, this manager will show you how most of managers in Egypt think, I’ll come at the end and provide you with a list of Egyptian managers’ behaviors.

Any way in these forums there was a thread going about Java vs. Net, and this manager came and put a very strange comment about that Java is the future and .Net is the past (isn’t this a joke?) and stuff like this which doesn’t make sense for any child who know how to define a variable, so we began to comment on his comments too much.

The Heart and The Tongue

Fadfadation - Thu, 2007-09-20 06:39 By Fadfadation
From the Radio:
"
One might come to me and say:" This guy may be vulgar and rude, but he is kind in his heart!".
I'd answer that and say:"No, that is incorrect. You need to reconsider such a judgement".

There might be some goodness in him, but never say his heart is kind... full stop!

My Childhood Reading Material

Fadfadation - Mon, 2007-09-17 07:59 By Fadfadation
I was never a book worm and never liked reading that much.
Only 6 years ago i started taking reading seriously and actually liked it.
It started with Religious books and then went into the other area which i like most... Politics (especially, (auto)biographies).

As a child (till my late teens) i used love 5 specific books. They all had pictures (that's why i liked them).

Here are the 5 books i always liked (and still have in my store somewhere in Egypt):
