Strung Out

Chronicles of a Female Thinking Out Loud - Sat, 2008-07-26 12:27 By Sou

I’m sipping on lukewarm green tea. Oh joy; such a great way to start the day.

I woke up an hour ago, and the first thing on my mind, literally, was: “Crap! My papers for my Literary Criticism class!” I guess that was the real “great start to the day”. If it’s any consolation (to myself), I’ve got half the Marxist theory paper done, and I’ve got a title for my research paper (due on Wednesday) - yes, just a title. I’ve been telling myself over and over again that I work better under pressure; so who knows, I might be typing away at 4 AM on Wednesday. Let’s hope the latter isn’t true and I actually get over and done with this paper in the next three days.

I’m exploring new music, which is a breath of fresh air, because I was starting to get bored of the music I listen to over, and over, and over, and over again. I came across the Violent Femmes when I was reading The Time Traveller’s Wife, and I thought to myself: “Oh what the heck, it won’t hurt to check them out.” That’s what I did, I listened to the track mentioned in the book, Blister in the Sun, and I think I’ve had it on repeat for the last half hour.

I don’t usually add two music videos in one post unless I’m trying to showcase the beyond-words awesomeness of an artist. I started writing out this post with a chosen “end of post song”, and I had no intention on adding Blister in the Sun. To make a long story short, I present to you Not in a Million Years by, the Maltese Indie band, Beangrowers. (Don’t ask how I find my music, if I tell you, I’ll have to kill you, haha.)

Till next time world.

PS. When I started writing this post, it was 11:30 AM, now it’s almost 1:30 PM. I forgot to publish the post. Go figure.
