I should have known the second I heard it was brunch on a workday that the only people present would be? Moms!
9 girls, and every single one had a baby attached to her breast, hip, or side. The conversation? Revolved around the merits of formula vs breastmilk, nursery vs pre-school, kindergarten exams, where to find a good maid, and where on earth did you get these pastries?

Using Drupal to analyze Twitter data
The Twitter dataset is an insanely valuable source of useful social networking information. That explains the huge number of Twitter-related sites that spring up, each one performing one specific analysis of Twitter data. The one I was looking at today is TwitterSheep which just creates a tagadelic-type cloud of keywords, from a user's followers' bios. Pretty neat idea, but it was frustrating that the Web application didn't let me actually see who of my followers are in which category - and make a list out of them, and email them, etc.

The centennial anniversary of International Women’s Day was commemorated throughout the world by marches, rallies and meetings. Though themes differed, the activities showed women expressing their rights, protesting injustices and demonstrating solidarity with their sisters in struggle.

On Sunday at 4 PM the Salemco workers took down their banners and rolled up their blankets. By 5 PM they had disappeared from the sidewalk on Qasr el-Ainy Street in downtown Cairo where they had been sleeping for ten consecutive days.

A generic filter for system commands
For the information geek, we need a generic filter that sends the text fragment to any pre-defined system command, and sets the rendered HTML output as the output of the command. Graphviz Filter is a special case of such a filter, but we really need a generic system.
I'm thinking: gnuplot, LilyPond, LaTeX, etc. All housed under one roof.
Some design issues arise: Each of these programs produces output in a variety of formats.

(AP) CAIRO — Egypt's Constitutional Court backed the right of women judges to sit on the bench in the state's administrative courts, despite opposition from conservatives, state media reported Monday.
The ruling follows a dispute within the State Council, the top administrative court, over whether women should be appointed.
